Our CEO David Batten hosted a visit recently from Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Margaret Greenwood and told her all about Hoot and the contribution of the credit union to financial inclusion in Bolton. Also at the visit was Yasmin Qureshi MP and leader of council Linda Thomas.

Hoot shares space in The Square set up with the support of Bolton Council and Bolton at home to provide financial services, advice, and affordable household items to the community. Services offered are Hoot, Furniture4U and Ageuk Bolton.

David said "I am always delighted to show off what partnership working can do to serve the needs of the community. It is good to see that the need for ethical services is high on the agenda and is supported by the shadow government. The Square is now in its fifth year and is becoming well known in Bolton as the place to go for good advice and ethical financial services. Working with our partners has helped us to reach over £1m in loans and to promote Hoot through Bolton.
